Bob Williams passed away Oct. 29, 2021, at the age of 84 while on vacation with his family In Mazatlan, Mexico, where palm trees and warm ocean breezes abound. Life has been very different ever since.
Bob was born in Seattle on May 24, 1937, to Win and Beth Williams of Port Hadlock, Washington. He was the oldest of four children and enjoyed growing up in Hadlock with his sisters Carol, Donna, and Barbara (Annie). He attended Chimacum grade school and high school, graduating in 1956. Bob was a proud multi-generational Chimacum alumnis, and keeping in touch with his classmates was a lifelong priority.
In 1963, Bob met and married Michele (Mikki) Whisnant. They made the Port Hadlock area their home, where they raised their two daughters, Danielle and Andrea, and built a life full of family and friends. In 1968, he took over his father’s business, Williams Electric, providing service to residential and commercial customers until 1984.
Bob was a man with an adventurous spirit and many talents — sailing, fishing, woodworking, baking, and cooking among them. These talents inspired other people throughout his life, and he was looked upon as a mentor by many. He enjoyed years of sailing Hadlock Bay, and a lifetime of evenings around the table eating well and discussing a good book or world events. He valued learning and never stopped, even taking up the guitar in the last year of his life.
Bob’s adventurous spirit and Mikki’s love of travel and sense of fun inspired the two to move to Mexico in 2018, where they made their new home in the sun, living, learning, enjoying a vibrant social life, and finding themselves rescuing dogs.
Bob is survived by his wife Mikki Williams; daughter Danielle Williams and partner John Krause; daughter Andrea Raymor and husband Sam Raymor; sisters Carol Moulton, Donna Love, and Annie Skipper; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
An open house celebration is planned for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the home of Andrea and Sam Raymor. Family and friends are invited to help us honor and celebrate Bob. He was a complex man: intelligent, adventurous, inquisitive, tender-hearted, and opinionated. We loved him dearly and miss him every day.
