Here’s a look at promotions, hirings, movers and newsmakers in the Memphis area business scene:
Paragon Bank recently announced the addition of five bankers to its organization: Daphne Adams, private banking associate; Richard Exley, vice president of Commercial Lending; Windee James, commercial banking associate; Tina Steele, senior manager of Properties and Purchasing; and Traci Blair Strickland, senior vice president of Marketing and Customer Experience. Adams joined Paragon Bank after 29 years with First Horizon where she held several positions in commercial and business banking, treasury management, and diversity and inclusion. Exley previously was with Landmark Bank Memphis. James has more than 25 years of experience in commercial banking. Steele brings 13 years of expertise to her new role as she served as the senior Workplace Services Manager at Hilton Domestic Operating Company for Hilton Hotels. Strickland’s experience in the financial services includes 30 years in wealth management and banking. Most recently, she was senior vice president of Marketing for Triumph Bank.
Kindred Place, a counseling center focused on healthy family relationships, has announced Patricia Maynard’s appointment as clinical director and Rachael DeSaussure’s promotion to assistant clinical director. Prior to receiving her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University, Maynard interned at Kindred Place and then accepted a position as the director of Visitation Services, which she held until her promotion to clinical program services director in 2016. DeSaussure also began her Kindred Place tenure as an intern, earning her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Memphis in 2016. After a part-time stint and a year as a volunteer, she accepted a full-time position as family services therapist in 2018.
Blight Authority of Memphis, a Tennessee Local Land Bank committed to reducing the occurrence of blight and introducing sustainable solutions to the affected neighborhoods, named Nyshi Taylor as its new community development programs manager. She’ll be responsible for organizing volunteer opportunities and impactful programs, writing grant proposals, and working with community partners, government agencies and other nonprofit organizations to provide supportive services to blighted neighborhoods.
Eclectic Eye, a provider of optometry services and eyewear needs, announced the promotion of Maddie Caserta to team lead and the certification of Wyatt Braden by the American Board of Opticianry. Caserta trains and manages the retail team. Braden is now certified and recognized as a highly qualified optician.
The 135-year-old Hunter Fan Company has expanded its expertise to stand-alone lights with Hunter Lighting. Hunter has partnered with HGTV host, builder, author and designer Jasmine Roth. Hunter Fan is among the leading manufacturers of ceiling fans and now moves into ceiling and wall lights with the official release of Hunter Lighting. Hunter Lighting offers chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts, sconces and vanity lights.
Bass, Berry & Sims announced the election of six new members in the firm including D. Lee Flaherty to its Memphis office. Flaherty counsels both publicly traded and privately held companies as well as private equity and venture capital firms in a variety of corporate and securities law matters. He works within a range of industries, with a particular focus in the medical device, pharmaceutical, real estate investment trust (REIT) and manufacturing industries. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Flaherty was an associate at Phelps Dunbar. Flaherty earned a law degree from the Mississippi College of Law and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi.
Sabrina Fields has joined IMC Companies, the nation’s largest marine drayage company, as vice president of People Strategies and Human Resources. Prior to joining IMC Companies, Fields served in various human resources leadership roles over her 20-plus-year career including as labor relations manager at International Flavors & Fragrances (previously known as DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences Division); human resources manager at Rich Products Corp.; and senior human resources manager at J.R. Simplot Company. She’ll oversee IMC Companies’ human resources and workforce strategies for the entire IMC Companies’ family of brands, working in concert with IMC’s leadership team to develop and implement consistent strategies to serve and support IMC employees. Fields earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Strayer University. She is Human Resources Certification Institute certified as a Professional in Human Resources by the Society of Human Resources Management.

RedZone Ministries, a Memphis-area nonprofit, has been named the recipient of a $150,000 grant through the annual Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards program. RedZone Ministries is working to meet the needs of youth in the Orange Mound neighborhood. It aims to create and implement effective community programs to help young people achieve success. Its mission includes serving students who need support academically and economically. Thirty-four organizations received a combined total of $5 million in grants to expand their community efforts in the areas of education, hunger and homelessness. The recipient organizations are either Black-led or serve communities of color. The True Inspiration Awards were established in 2015 to carry on Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy’s legacy of generosity and community.
Memphis-based Century Wealth Management, a financial advisory firm providing family office and wealth management services, has agreed to merge its business with Beacon Pointe Advisors. Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, Beacon Pointe is one of the nation’s largest independent registered investment advisors with 33 offices nationwide and more than 10,000 client relationships. Century Wealth founder Jay Healy joins Beacon Pointe as a managing director and partner, alongside two additional team members. He will continue to manage the Memphis office.
