NEWTON FALLS — Edward “Ed” E. Prusky, 79, of Newton Falls, passed peacefully at home Saturday, April 2, 2022, with his loving family by his side.
Ed was born on March 9, 1943, in Warren, the son of Walter and Helen Bodzenta Prusky.
He was a 1961 graduate of Newton Falls High School and worked as a self-employed carpenter for 50 years. He was well respected in the community for his integrity, attention to detail and quality of work.
On Aug. 10, 1963, he married his high school sweetheart, Doris McGeehen, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years. He lovingly referred to her as his “Angel.”
Ed enjoyed coaching and coached his two sons’ Little League and Pony League baseball teams for many years. He loved putting together jigsaw puzzles, watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians and spending time outdoors working in his yard.
He was a life long member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish in Newton Falls.
Preceding Ed were his parents; and his sister, Nancy.
Cherished memories of Ed will be carried on by his loving family, his wife, Doris of Newton Falls; two sons, Ed Jr. (Nikki) of Newton Falls and Dennis (Terry) of Lordstown; brother, Walter Jr. of Newton Falls; six grandchildren, Matthew (Nicole) Prusky, Heather (Derrick) Coy, Destiny, Haley, Abigail and Hunter Prusky; and his great-grandchild, Olivia and another great-grandchild, expected to arrive at any time.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls. Family and friends may also visit from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022, at St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish in Newton Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow, Friday, with the Rev. David Merzweiler as celebrant, at the church.
