Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list on Monday.
Kelce, 32, was selected to his seventh consecutive Pro Bowl earlier in the day. He has recorded 83 catches for 1,066 receiving yards and seven touchdowns this season. He is coming off a season-best game in which he recorded 10 receptions for 191 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score in overtime, in a 34-28 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chiefs also placed starting cornerback Charvarius Ward and kicker Harrison Butker on the COVID-19 reserve list. In total, 51 players were officially placed on the COVID-19 list on Monday, the highest single-day total since the pandemic began. Four of the positive tests were from Sunday, according to multiple reports.
Kelce could be cleared in time for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers if he meets the terms of the league’s recently revised COVID-19 protocols.

Some of the other notable players placed on the COVID-19 reserve list Monday included Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Joey Bosa, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff, Washington Football Team offensive guard Brandon Scherff, Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Andre Dillard, New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Justin Houston.
